HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL YOU GOBLINS OUT THERE. A DAY TO PLAY WITH THE PUMPKINS AND REST THE HORSES: IT’S MONDAY.

Been a little Lazy lately as I’ve been putting up decorations and saving my energy watching football, US style. A lot going on in the Polo World, though down South Cambiaso has won a big one, the Hurlingham, with his son Poroto. Must have been awesome for them–a Triple Crown win. Not sure if Gonzalo ever won with his son or not, but it may be a first. And I’m also not sure how the Boys beat Pablo, who is playing amazing, and who is definitely not done at the Top.

The Big one starts this week and it will be a barn burner I bet. Elerstina will be tested again after 2 big losses. Dolfina knows the Cousins are waiting and Pablo’s gang are still in the show. A little closer South, in Florida, we have a great one going, as the World Cup had its second round today in game 3 with brackets of 4. I thought I was going to faint reading the results today. I thought it said Pakistan 15 Argentina 13, but with a closer look I saw Pakistan 1.5 (I was only off a little). So far looks like Ar. 2 and 0 along with Uruguay and Spain, who will all most likely being going to the semis. USA and Italy are 1 -1 with a chance to fill the 4th spot, so as Polo goes nobody knows.

I hear horses have been great compliments of Valiente Polo and Mr. Bob Jornayvaz. This is awesome to see teams bring their best. The last time I know of, and the only country I’ve heard of doing so previously was Australia. The Australian horse were absolutely amazing as over 100 different people brought their best to the SHOW. Thank you Bob– this is huge. Field, staff, and horses. That’s QUITE A GIFT TO THE USA AND THE WORLD CUP ORG. You can see most or all of the games on globalpolo.com.

Looks like CA is going to be big this Winter as Eldorado is gearing up and Empire may be back in action, as Mr. Haagen is building more. I was so happy to see he has been elected to the HALL OF POLO FAME, because he has done so much for Polo here in California. I am not sure, but he may have done as much as Carlton Beal, who made CA winter Polo back when. Big Al has beaten all the stops, bulldozed them down and kept on going, and he did it his way: VERY HIGH END. There is no doubt about it; ask the 20 million+ people who have been to Coachella–there is no PLACE like it.

We also have a new Winter venue in California, and it is La Hedura, organized and owned by the one and only Memo Gracida, who has been around for well since the 80’s and he knows people, horses and POLO, so it has been very well done and has much support from many new people and players who just want to enjoy it are having a great time. It is in San Ynez, CA and he also has use of the amazing fields at Piocho Ranch. No matter the weather, it won’t change, because just like the desert, the wells do not go dry!
